Dr. Suleyman Demi is an educator, researcher, and activist focused on social and
environmental justice.
An Assistant Professor at Algoma University, he previously held postdoctoral roles at
the Faculty of Medicine of Dalhousie University, Halifax and the Department of Health
and Society of the University of Toronto, Canada.
His research spans anti-Black racism, Indigenous health, food system analysis, food
sovereignty, and health equity, etc. He has published widely on decolonizing food
systems, healthy equity and received multiple awards from the University of Toronto,
Canada.
